As a non-profit organization, JUSTICE4KATIE is leading the effort to stop the distraction by creating awareness and changing attitudes toward distracted driving, while honoring and remembering our beloved Katie Burkey.
JUSTICE4KATIE is only in its first year of providing public awareness and education on the issue of distracted driving. In that short period of time, we have been granted our non-profit status, participated in the legislation process pushing for the MN Hands Free Law, and hosted a major event that gained local news coverage.
Katie was only 22 years old when she was killed, that we cannot change, but we can work together to stop the distraction. Through advocacy and education, it is our goal to change the behavior before it starts.
